Discover the Q’eswachaka Inca Bridge!
The Q’eswachaka Bridge, located in the district of Quehue, Cusco, is an ancient ichu (Andean thatch) fiber structure that has been rebuilt annually for centuries by local communities. This 28-meter long suspension bridge crosses the Apurimac River and is one of the last bridges of its kind still in use. Each year, the renovation of the bridge is carried out through a traditional ritual that unites the families of the area, preserving an Inca practice that has endured over time.
