CLASSIC INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU – 4 DAYS

The four-day adventure begins with the transfer from your hotel in Cusco by tourist transport. After a journey of approximately three hours, we will arrive at Piskacucho, the checkpoint to enter the Inca Trail. From here, we will begin the hike to our first campsite in Wayllabamba. During the trek, we will stop in Miskay to enjoy lunch and visit the archaeological complex of Patallacta or Llactapata, where we will receive a brief explanation of its historical importance. Afterwards, we will continue walking until we reach Wayllabamba, where we will set up our first camp.

The second day of our journey begins with an early breakfast, after which we will start the hike to the highest point of the Inca Trail, known as Warmiwañusca or "Paso de la Mujer Muerta" (4,200 m.a.s.l.). Along the ascent, we will be able to observe diverse ecological zones and enjoy the impressive natural landscapes. After reaching the summit, we will continue our hike to our campsite in Pacaymayo, where we will have lunch and free time to explore the surroundings.

The third day begins with breakfast before continuing our hike to the archaeological complex of Runcurakay (3,850 m.a.s.l.), an important Inca site where we will make a brief stop to take pictures. During the tour, we will also visit the archaeological complexes of Sayacmarca and Phuyupatamarca. After lunch, we will continue to Wiñaywayna, where we will set up camp for the last night. At dinner, we will have a farewell celebration with the porters who have accompanied us during the Inca Trail.

On the last day of our expedition, we will start early with breakfast and embark on the final hike to the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary. The tour will take us first to Inti Punku, the Sun Gate, from where we will have a panoramic view of Machu Picchu. Then, we will continue to the main entrance of the citadel, where we will check in and begin a guided tour of approximately two hours, exploring the main sectors of the archaeological site.

After the guided tour, we will have free time to take pictures and explore the citadel at your own pace. Afterwards, we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where we will enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, we will board the train to Ollantaytambo, from where our transportation will take you back to Cusco, ending the tour at your accommodation.
