MACHU PICCHU BY TRAIN FROM CUSCO

Machu Picchu (Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco)

The day tour to Machu Picchu begins with pick up from your hotel in Cusco. You will be transferred to the train station, where you will board the train to the picturesque town of Aguas Calientes, located 2,000 meters above sea level.

Upon arrival at the train station, the guide will greet you with a sign with your names on it. From there, you will head to the bus station to ascend a zigzagging road to the impressive Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as "The Lost City of the Incas".

Upon arrival at the citadel of Machu Picchu, you will pass through the access control and the guided tour will begin, in which you will tour the main points of interest such as the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Enclosures, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the citadel at your own pace.

After the visit, you will take the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you can have lunch in one of the local restaurants (lunch is not included in the package).

In the afternoon, you will board the train back to Cusco. It is recommended that you arrive at the station in advance. The return trip will follow the same route as the outward journey. Upon arrival at the train station in Ollantaytambo, a private transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco, with an approximate duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
